I’ve just arrived at work after returning from Griffith, yesterday Ammi was admitted to the emergency department of Griffith base hospital after being bitten by a redback spider, Latrodectus hasselti. She is recovering well and should make a full recovery, although she is in some discomfort. Redback’s are quite ubiquitous in Wagga, and hot and humid weather often precedes a population explosion. By all accounts the anti-venom is more dangerous than the bite, although at least a dozen deaths from their bites have been recorded.
We thank everyone for their prayers, the fantastic staff at Griffith Base hospital emergency, and most of all to God for his amazing grace.
