Something from Zondervan

Churches that place a high value on developing incredible programs over developing people will tend to identify and pursue the brightest and best in the country. The advantages are real; however, so are the disadvantages. By hiring an outsider, you may well be communicating that, when you really want to do something great, you are going to go out and find the best rather than develop the best internally. There is a huge difference between leadership acquisition and leadership development.
